Moto X4 Launch Delayed Due To Qualcomm Processor Supply Shortage

Motorola has been among the biggest names when it comes to the world of technology. The company has been the pioneer when it comes to mobile phones technology. They are also a major player in the smartphone markets. Motorola’s return into the smartphone markets was quite an emphatic one, and the company continues to dish out impressive smartphones year after year. After a year’s gap, Motorola is now planning to launch the Moto X4 this year. However, the launch of this phone, reportedly set to launch on the 30th of June, has now been delayed.

The phone’s launch has now been delayed due to processor shortage issues. Qualcomm, which produces the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor is witnessing an unusually high demand for the processor and is unable to come out with as many processors as needed by Motorola. The Moto X4 too, would be powered by the Snapdragon 660 and a delay in supply of processors would lead to a delay in the production of the phones.

Such cases are not new as there have been many instances where smartphones have been delayed due to shortage in processor supplies. Such an incidence earlier this year happened with the LG G6. The company was said to launch their flagship device with the Snapdragon 835 processor, but due to a shortage in the supply, LG had to go ahead with the Snapdragon 821.

Motorola’s Moto X4, also known as the Moto X 2017 smartphone had a lot of buzz behind it. Not much is known about this phone other than the fact that Motorola is planning to launch the phone with a 3D touch feature. The phone is said to feature a 5.2 inched full-HD display. It would feature a large, 3800mAh battery that supports quick charge 3.0, as well as IP68 waterproofing. Stay tuned with us for more updates on the Moto X4.
