Among some of the most powerful names in the markets of technology, Qualcomm is a highly trusted brand when it comes to processors and system on chips. The brand has been around for quite a while, and has a lot of credibility and goodwill. Qualcomm is usually known for their professionalism. However, in a rather embarrassing moment for the brand, Qualcomm accidentally revealed the new ASUS ZenFone AR smartphone before its official announcement.

The company accidentally posted a blog, and then removed it.  In this blog post, they had stated that the upcoming ASUS ZenFone AR smartphone will feature the Tango technology, earlier seen in the Lenovo Phab2 Pro. This will be the second ever smartphone to feature the Tango technology. Qualcomm noted that the ASUS ZenFone AR will be running on the Snapdragon 821 processor.

This smartphone will also be Daydream-ready. The phone is indeed looking a rather powerful device going by these features. The phone, similar to the Lenovo Phab2 Pro before it, features multiple cameras in the back and the front, for depth perception and various other similar functionalities.

In addition to Qualcomm accidentally leaking the information about this phone, earlier in the day, popular tipster Evan Blass too, had posted images of the ASUS ZenFone AR smartphone on his Twitter handle @EVLeaks. The phone is indeed a superior visual device, as it comes with Tango’s depth perception abilities, as well as Daydream’s Virtual Reality.

ASUS later announced the phone at the CES 2017 event. The phone features 64GB of storage space, 4GB of RAM, and runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS now, which is likely to get an update to the Android 7.0 Nougat OS in the near future. The ASUS ZenFone AR features a USB Type-C connectivity, and a large, 6 inched screen to complement all the other visual features it comes with.
