After 10 Years of Hard Work, Man Finally Illustrates Book Using MS Paint

When it comes to making images for books and other similar works of print, Adobe photoshop and illustrator are among the top tools that artists make use of. However, not all of us are technologically gifted and know how to use these software. Some of us prefer simpler things in life. Pat Hines preferred MS Paint.

It took Pat 10 years to illustrate his book using nothing but MS Paint. However, one look at his work and you won’t believe that all of this has been made entirely on a software as simple and basic as Microsoft Paint! “I suck at Photoshop and other programs, and have worked exclusively in Microsoft Paint for over ten years… I honed my craft working long overnights at a hospital reception desk…,” says Pat.

His book, ‘Camp Redblood and the essential revenge’ features graphics entirely made on MS Paint – which is quite a feat. The book is about a summer camp, set in the 1980s. However, it is not a regular summer camp. It is shrouded by ghosts and monsters of various kinds. Quite a spooky camp to attend!

For most of us even the most basic of edits on MS Paint take a long time. Imagine having to create something from scratch – and of this quality! It takes an exceptional effort and herculean levels of hardwork to attain this level of perfection. While there have been many people who call themselves MS Paint artists, very few ever manage to reach this level of perfection. What also separates Pat Hines from these men is the fact that he actually published an entire book on these graphics.

Microsoft, on their part, have brought forward a major update to MS Paint. We got a glimpse of it last year, but it has now rolled out to most users on the latest Windows 10 OS – MS Paint 3D! Thanks to this, we may see more kick-ass graphics from Pat in his next novels!
