In 2016, the Indian telecom markets witnessed a major force entering the markets and destroying all competition – Reliance Jio. In what comes as a response to the attractive and cheap pricing policies of Jio, BSNL too, has been stepping up their game now. A BSNL Unlimited Voice Calling plan has now been introduced at Rs. 144. State-owned BSNL is among the most popular names in the Indian telecommunication ecosystem and this offer is bound to attract a large number of people.
BSNL, which is typically not known for any pomp-and-show, but for their connectivity and availability in the remotest of areas, has suddenly declared their arrival in the pricing wars. At just Rs. 144, both the prepaid as well as postpaid users of BSNL’s services can now make use of this BSNL unlimited voice calling plan.
This BSNL Unlimited Voice Calling offer is valid for the next six months, and also offers the users with free data of 300MB of internet usage. While this move has come out on the new year, this was being planned since as early as September. BSNL’s managing director had, back then, commented that they are observing the markets, and are considering releasing a plan for unlimited voice calling.
Now that the plan is finally out, the users can make use of it. Unlimited calling and data plans have been rather popular over the last few years, and a number of users are making use of it. BSNL, in 2017, also plans to launch 44,000 hotspots which shall cover rural and semi-rural India. Once implemented, this will help ‘digital India’ get a major boost, helping get millions of people a proper internet access.
Reliance Jio has now started off with their Reliance Jio Happy New Year offer as well, where they are offering the users with unlimited data and voice calling, and texts till the 31st of March. BSNL has also had a similar offer for landline users last year.
