Apple has been among the biggest names when it comes to the world of smartphone technology. 2017 marks ten years of the iPhone and Apple is all set to launch their next-gen iPhone devices tomorrow, on the 12th of September. Unlike recent years’ events when Apple launched two smartphones, there are going to be three devices this year. iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.

Current speculations indicate that the iPhone X is going to be the tenth anniversary edition of the iPhone. There have been numerous hints at what these phones might feature spotted in the iOS 11 Code. The company has been around for several decades and has been churning out innovation after innovation in the field of technology. Many innovations are on their way with these three devices too. Let us take a closer look at the new features we expect will be a part of these iPhones:

Wireless Charging

Rumored for years, the wireless charging feature is finally here. There were rumors that it would be a part of the iPhone 6, then of the iPhone 6s, then of the iPhone 7. However, it is finally going to come with this years’ launch, at least on one of the three devices, most likely on the iPhone X and possibly on all three of them.

Brazilian iOS developer Guilherme Rambo spotted this bit in the iOS 11 code which hinted at Wireless charging. He also adds that the phone will show some 3D animations while the phone is charging wirelessly.

Hardware Specifications

RAM

In addition to the wireless charging, we also know that the iPhone 8 would come out with 2GB of RAM while the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X would both feature 3GB of RAM.

Camera

Processing

The iPhone X will feature a six-core Apple SoC as per lines of code spotted on iOS 11. Apple also plans to introduce four high performance “Mistral” cores and two energy efficient “Monsoon” cores, as per those who have seen the code. This can be compared with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus which run on a quad core Apple A10 processor.

Face ID Unlock

Face ID is the facial authentication technology the new iPhone models and is said to be present on all three of the upcoming iPhones: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
