Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel XL 2 To Launch With 5″ and 6″ Display: Reports

Google Pixel smartphones which were announced in the October of 2016 have managed to sell over a million units in about 8 months since their launch. The sales might be rather slow, but the phones are still the top models when it comes to Android devices. They are the apex definition of what every Android smartphone should be like. Google is now working on developing the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel XL 2 smartphones. Latest news indicates that many details about the phones, including their display sizes have leaked.

Reports indicate that the Google Pixel 2 smartphone would come out with a 5 inched display, which would be the same as last years’ phone. However, the larger of the two, the Google Pixel XL 2 would feature a slightly larger display, coming in at 6 inches. Last years’ Pixel XL featured a 5.5 inched display. Reports in the past have suggested that the Pixel 2 would be made by HTC, which made last years’ phones too. However, the Pixel XL 2 would be made by LG.

This larger, Google Pixel XL 2 smartphone would feature an LG OLED display. Google had invested USD 900 Million in LG’s OLED panels, and this makes sense considering the Pixel phones are expected to use these displays. Both these phones would be powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, the Snapdragon 835 processor. The phones would feature 4GB of RAM (same as last year) and a 64GB variant. AS of now this is unclear if there would be another sized variant available.

What is quite interesting here is that the Google Pixel 2 would be pretty much the same as last years’ Google Pixel device, but the Google Pixel XL 2 would feature slimmer bezels, giving it a different, distinct look. The phone is reportedly going to exclude the 3.5 mm jack as well. Stay tuned with us for more updates on the gen-next Google Pixel smartphones.
