Moto G4 Play To Get The Android Nougat OS Update in June

Motorola has been among the most prolific phonemakers of all time. The company is one of the pioneers of mobile phone technology. They have been coming out with a number of smartphones over the years, and last year, they released a new variant of the Moto G4 – the Moto G4 Play. While the Moto G4 and G4 Plus smartphones around the globe are getting the Android Nougat OS update over the past few months, the ‘Play’ branded phone would be getting this update in June.

The Moto G4 Play was the first such instance of the Moto G series getting a ‘Play’ smartphone. This is going to be the last phone of the Moto G4 family of devices to get the update. A Lenovo spokesperson has confirmed this news stating that “Consumers will start to see Android Nougat on Moto G4 Play in June.” It has also been confirmed that this update will be a global rollout.

This Android Nougat OS update that will be rolling out for the Moto G4 Play users would be the Android 7.0 update, and not the Android 7.1 update. This will bring out many new features such as an improved doze mode, all new split-screen multi-tasking features and much more. The update was long awaited and users of the Moto G4 Play will have to wait for another couple of months before this update officially rolls out for them.

Motorola has been on quite a spree as they have been coming out with updates for a number of smartphones. They have a long summer ahead of them as the company is set to release phones such as the Moto X 2017, Moto Z2, Z2 Force and Z2 Play, Moto E4 and E4 Plus, as well as a newly introduced Moto C series. Stay tuned with us for more updates on Motorola and their plans!
