Pixel 2 Specs Emerge: 64GB/128GB Storage, Grey/Black Variants, Water Resistant

Google’s gen-next Pixel devices, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are all set to come out on the 5th of October. Latest reports from 9to5Google give us a detailed look at the gen-next Pixel smartphone and about a few features it might have to offer. The image has been blurred to protect the privacy of the source as it has markings which might reveal the identity of the person who shared the images.

The image on the left is the front of the phone while on the right you can see the back of the device. This hits another nail in the head when it comes to the rumors surrounding the camera – the Google Pixel 2 will not feature a dual camera for sure. The two dots that are seen below the camera are those of the laser autofocus and are possibly for the send and receive functions.

On the front side, we can see a new grille at the bottom. A small microphone has also been made present on the top. In addition to that the front camera of the Pixel 2 is also visible. It must be kept in mind that the phone we have here is the Pixel 2 and not the Pixel XL 2 which is expected to have a somewhat different design. The phones will not feature a 3.5mm jack. However, Google will ship the phones with a USB-C to 3.5mm dongles.

In addition to the changes in design, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are also expected to come out with a larger storage space. The base variant will be upgraded to 64GB this year while a 128GB variant would also come out. The phones will also be more expensive than they were last year.

The display is going to be the only difference between the Pixel 2 and the Pixel XL 2, just like last year. As of now the Pixel XL 2 is confirmed to be water resistant while we are still awaiting more details on the regular Pixel device. The phone will also come with the Google Lens app and will run on Android 8.1 Oreo OS upon release.
