Google Pixel 2 Live Photos Confirm Disappointing Thick Bezels

Google Pixel and Pixel XL, which were announced in the October of 2016 are the flagship Google smartphones as of now. The company has been coming out with a number of updates and upgrades for these phones. Google is now working on Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones. Of late we have been hearing rumors of the phone featuring thick bezels in the front. The latest set of leaks further confirm our fears.

The Google Pixel 2 has been spotted in leaked live images today, which show us a clear visual of Google’s unwillingness to change. While every major flagship device has adapted the edge to edge displays, Google will continue making phones the old-school way. While this is only expected to be the Google Pixel 2, the current word is that the Google Pixel XL 2 will feature a bezel less display.

The leaked images also show the phone’s back panel. The glass back panel has been made smaller than last time and the fingerprint scanner is placed below that now. It is clearly visible in the image that the glass is quite curved this time. Moreover, those who look carefully would also find a dual flash system. In the past there have been reports of a laser autofocus too, but that isn’t visible in this image.

The Google Pixel 2 will not be coming out with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is expected to be water resistant this time, which will be a welcome feature. While the display has disappointed, another disappointing aspect is the lack of a dual camera. For months it was rumored that the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will come with a dual camera. However, after observing various leaks, the phone doesn’t really look quite different from the one which is already available. Let us wait and see what Google does to make the gen-next Pixel devices feel special.
