Over the years, Motorola’s Moto series of smartphones have been lauded for their excellence. Motorola has been releasing a number of Moto smartphones over the years. This year they take it one step further. Motorola has released the Moto E, Moto G, Moto M, Moto X and Moto Z series of smartphones in the past. This year they get ready to introduce the Moto C smartphones as well. Motorola plans to introduce the Moto E4 smartphones as well. Latest reports indicate that Motorola’s Moto C and Moto E4 smartphones would be running the ZUK UI.
In the past, Motorola’s smartphones featured a stock UI, which was one of the biggest motivations for users who bought the phones. Motorola is now looking forward to change their strategy now, and their low-end smartphones may no longer feature stock Android. The Moto E4 and the Moto C smartphones will now be running on the ZUK UI, which was earlier seen on Lenovo’s ZUK smartphones.
Lenovo, which owns the Motorola brands has been increasing their influence on it over the years. The report comes via Gizmo China which states that this was teased by Lenovo’s VP Alex Chen on his Weibo account. However, his post has since been deleted.
Lenovo officially describes ZUK’s ZUI as “ZUI OS provides system-level protection from unwanted threats such as Malware and Trojans. The ability to create automatic security rules and protection engine make effective protection and tracking of APPS a sentinel surveillance tool.”
While the arrival of ZUK UI on the Moto C and Moto E4 smartphones is not confirmed yet, it might be possible that Motorola would be including the stock Android OS only in the Moto G and higher priced smartphones. Stay tuned with us for more updates on this story. The phones are expected to launch over the next few weeks.
