When Microsoft released the gen-next series of Lumia devices running on the Windows 10 Mobile OS, they had high hopes from them. The Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 650 were the three major devices that the company released. In addition to these smartphones they also came out with a low-cost Lumia 550 device. Microsoft had high hopes from these devices. Each of these smartphones had a particular role to play. However, things were not looking as good for Microsoft as they expected it to. The company was going through a hard time in the markets.

The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL were released was premium users. In addition to these devices, the Lumia 650 too was later released. The primary purpose of the Lumia 650 was to attract the business class users. However, that too didn’t work as well as the company planned it to. Microsoft, however noticed that things are not working out well for them. The company has now sold off a portion of their mobile phone business, and is now working on a new strategy for their high-end devices.

In an attempt to boost sales, the company has now introduced a price cut. The Windows 10 Mobile OS powered Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, and Lumia 650 devices are now going to get a drop in their prices. Let us take a look at the old and new prices of these Lumia smartphones:

  • The Lumia 650, which was originally launched at a price of $199, is now available for $149.
  • The Microsoft Lumia 950 which was launched for $549 is now selling at a price of $399.
  • The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, which was originally priced in at $649, is now available for $499.

This is indeed a good time and a good price for those aiming at buying these Microsoft powered Windows 10 Mobile OS based smartphones.
