The upcoming OnePlus flagship smartphone, OnePlus 5 has been one of the most awaited smartphones of the year. The phone has been expected to release in the summer of 2017. Over the weeks there have been a number of leaks which give us a fair idea about what to expect from the device. More details on the phone have now emerged, thanks to a leak via Roland Quandt.

One of the most prolific tipsters of recent times, Roland Quandt has posted a screenshot of a Chinese certification website which showcases some aspects of the phone. The image showcases the various networks the phone will be able to support, as well as frequencies and transmission power of the device. What is worth noting here is the fact that the listing mentions the device model as “OnePlus A5000” clearly.

In the past OnePlus has released various smartphones where the device model gives away their name. The OnePlus 3 came out as the A3000, A30003 and A3010. The OnePlus 2 was A2001, A2003 and A2005. It looks like the OnePlus A5000 is clearly the OnePlus 5 smartphone.

While these are the only details that have emerged as of now, the specifications of the phone are mere speculations at the moment. OnePlus 5 is expected to come out into the markets with a 5.5 inched display which will feature a 2K resolution. The phone is expected to come out with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor. The phone is expected to feature a variant of 8GB RAM, while a 6GB RAM variant too might come out. In addition to that, the OnePlus 5 is expected to feature a 3000mAh battery.

OnePlus will launch their gen-next smartphone as the OnePlus 5, and not the OnePlus 4. This is because in China, the number 4 is associated with ill omens. Hence, the company is likely to drop the number all together. The phone is expected to release around June or July.
