OnePlus has been coming out with a number of impressive smartphones year after year. Entering their fourth year in the markets and already a global brand, the company is now working on their fourth generation smartphone - the OnePlus 5. The phone has been speculated to release in the summer of this year, and rumors regarding the specifications of the phone have now started surfacing.
The OnePlus 5 will follow last years’ OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. Many readers would be wondering on why OnePlus decided to not release the next phone as OnePlus 4. In China there’s a phobia when it comes to the number 4. So much that some offices too don’t have a 4th floor numbered and skip to the 5th after the 3rd floor! Hence, the OnePlus 4 is actually coming out with the number 5. Let us now take a look at what to expect from the gen-next OnePlus smartphone.
OnePlus 5 Specifications
The phone is expected to come out into the markets with top-of-the-line specifications. It is expected that the gen-next OnePlus smartphone will feature a massive, 8GB RAM! OnePlus has always been taking memory capacity to the next level. While the other smartphones were still in the 3GB and 4GB phase, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T were already running 6GB RAMs. This leads to the speculation that the upcoming OnePlus 5 would feature 8GB of RAM!
In addition to that, the phone is also expected to come out with dual cameras in the back. Moreover, speculations indicate that the OnePlus 5 too, like the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8, would feature slim or no bezels at all, and would come with a large body to screen ratio.
The phone is expected to release around June or July of 2017, and is expected to live up to the ‘flagship killer’ reputation it has had over the years. The OnePlus is likely to be priced in below $500.
