Amazon Spark: A Social Network For Shoppers Launched by Amazon

Amazon is among the biggest names when it comes to the world of technology. The company has brought forward a number of changes and innovations in the way we know e-commerce and online shopping to be. Amazon is now taking things one step forward as they launched Amazon Spark earlier today, a social network for shoppers.

Basically, this is Amazon’s ploy at getting their customers to spend more time on their platform, to shop more with them, and to share pictures with them. This social network is a part of the main Amazon app itself. It has only released for the iPhone app as of now. Interestingly, this feature is available only for the Amazon Prime users. Amazon Spark allows the users to share photos featuring their interests. The aim behind this is to learn more and to serve their customers better.

In order to access Amazon Spark, users need to go to the “programs and features” section on their Amazon app’s menu bar. The tool will then ask the users to select five interests. After selecting these interests, users will be met with an Instagram-like feed of photos, which come along with shopping-bag icons showcasing the pictured items as well as other similar, related which can be bought on Amazon.

“Whether you’re looking for inspiration for home décor or seeking advice for the best long-distance running shoes, Spark makes it easy to discover — and shop — stories and ideas from a community that likes what you like,” Amazon said in an introduction to the service.

This service, which resembles Pintrest mixed with Instagram, is available only to the customers based in the US as of now. As we mentioned earlier, it is only for Amazon Prime members. Non-Prime members would be able to access Amazon Spark but would not be able to post there. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
