VU, the US-based Television maker has unveiled 4K HDR TVs and Curved HD TVs in India. The 4K HDR TVs will be available in 65-inch and 75-inch sizes and priced at 1 lakh and 1.8 lakh respectively.VU described HDR as “PixelightHDR”. The Curved HD TVs will be available  in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes and priced between Rs 1.56 lakh and Rs 3 lakh. Here, the Curved TVs doesn’t support HDR(High Dynamic Range). The Company owns a valuable share in the Indian Market.

As per the CEO of the company and Design Head of VU Technologies, Devita saraf, the company has the biggest  range of TVs followed by  Sony, Samsung and LG with 22 Unique SKUs in the Indian market. The company had 350% Year on Year growth since 2013 aiming for a turnover of Rs.600 Cr in 2016-17.

VU also launched a new feature Ultra-Dimming by which will allow creating richer blacks, purer whites and enhanced colour. Also, the TV is powered by Motion Estimation and Compensation (MEMC) technology. With the help of this feature, continuous frames will be added to the picture which will provide a smoother experience for the user.

The company said in the statement that, “The Pixelight High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology has the power of 10.6 billion colours. It enhances brightness range and improves the brightest and darkest parts of the picture, and brings us a much wider range of colour. It also picture details and provides users with high-quality images”.

VU 4K HDR TV runs on Opera OS. As per the connectivity options, it has 4 HDMI ports,3 USB ports(1 USB 3.0 port and other two are USB 2.0 port), Ethernet port and support dual-band 802.11ac. Also, the remote contains the shortcut buttons for Netflix and YouTube. The Curved TVs fall under the company’s Luxury range which will be powered by quad-core GPU and CPU. Also, the TVs are powered by Android Lollipop. Moreover, the TVs comes with  Harman-Kardon dbx sound which will provide improved audio experience.
