Movies arrived on iTunes tenÂ years ago this month, and to mark the occasion, Apple is offering bundles of ten films for just $10.
For Monday, September 12, only, titles from Warner Bros., Universal, Paramount, Lionsgate, and Sony Pictures are available for $9.99 on iTunes in the US, and they cover a wide range of genres.
During Appleâ€™s â€śItâ€™s Showtime!â€ť 2006 keynote â€“ a whole year before the launch of the iPhone â€“ Steve Jobs announced that films with â€śnear-DVD image qualityâ€ť would be available to download on the iTunes Movies store. On launch, only 75 films listed, all from Disney-owned studios.
According to Appleâ€™s website, more than 85,000 feature-length movies are now available.
Here are the six bundles â€” one each from Paramount, Warner Bros., Universal, and Sony Pictures, and two from Lionsgate:
