Sandisk has launched world’s largest SD card with a capacity of 1TB. Sandisk has been acquired by Western Digital before few months. Before two years in 2014, Sandisk has been launched 512GB of SD card, which means the company has introduced a card with double storage capacity. The company unveiled it’s 1TB card at Photokina Event held in Germany.  The card is having a storage capacity of an HDD.

Sandisk is making an evolution in the world of photography by introducing such high capacity storage card. Also, the devices are getting smarter day by day. There are various devices available in the market which are capable of recording 4K videos. This Card will be beneficial for all the Professional Photographers as they will be able to store a large amount of data. SanDisk has not yet unveiled the price of the SD card.

Dinesh Bahal,vice president, product management, Content Solutions Business Unit, Western Digital, said “Sixteen years ago we introduced the first SanDisk 64MB SD card and today we are enabling capacities of 1TB. Over the years our goal has remained the same; continue to innovate and set the pace for the imaging industry. The SanDisk 1TB SD card prototype represents another significant achievement as growth of high-resolution content and capacity-intensive applications such as virtual reality, video surveillance and 360 video, are progressing at astounding rates”.
