Meet ZTE Axon Multy - ZTE’s Dual Screen Phone

0

ZTE Axon Multy is a one of it’s kind device. A very innovative approach to how we know tablets, the Chinese telecommunications manufacturer has managed to pull out a stunner of a device here! This is a phone which comes with dual screens, which when put together, form a 6.8 inched tablet! The ZTE Axon Multy is being developed in collaboration with AT&T.

For years we have heard about foldable displays and them going mainstream ‘soon’. However that ‘soon’ hasn’t arrived yet. Samsung and LG show off their multi-screen displays every year at the CES and other such international tech events. However, there has been no update from either of the companies as to when we may get to see a mainstream product making use of these displays. ZTE finally has an answer with the ZTE Axon Multy.

Being developed in association with AT&T, the ZTE Axon Multy is basically a phone with dual displays which can be folded and used in the form factor of a mobile phone while when unfolded, it forms a 6.8 inched tablet. The 6.8 inch display on the device might sound large, but when you look at it practically it’s just half an inch larger than the Note 8.

While such a phone is unusual, do not expect ZTE to take things lightly here as the ZTE Axon Multy will feature top of the line specs. This dual display device will come out into the markets with a Snapdragon 820 - which was Qualcomm’s 2016 flagship processor. It will feature 4GB of RAM along with 32GB of built-in storage space.

The ZTE Axon Multy will also feature a single, 20MP Camera on the back. The phone would run ZTE’s custom UI on top of Android OS. As of now the Android OS is unspecified but it might be the Android Marshmallow. It is interesting to see an innovative approach from ZTE. The phone will launch in Mid-October.
