New Google Allo Update Will Allow Google Duo Calls From Chat

Google Allo and Google Duo were announced back in the Google I/O event of 2016. The apps came out later that year, and have since been getting mixed reactions. Allo has almost been termed dead-on-arrival by many users, while Duo has managed to gain some traction, thanks to an ultra-simplistic layout. The latest update to Allo brings it one step closer to Duo. Let us take a closer look at what this new update is all about.

The latest update to Allo was teased on Twitter by Amit Fulay, Google’s Product Head for this app. In his Tweet, Fulay states: “New version of Allo launching today can now start a Duo call right from your chat. ” This is indeed quite interesting. When asked if there’s anything else that comes with this version, he responded by saying there’s lots more in this version. We are keeping our eyes and ears open for any news of what these new features might be.

Google has time and again tried to revive this app and hoping to kindle some sort of interest among the users but nothing seems to be going their way. In addition to allowing the users to make Duo calls from Allo, this new update to Google Allo will bring in another new feature. Google Allo will now let the users put stickers on the photos that they are sharing with their friends inside the app. We fully expect there to be more updates than just these two.

This update to Google Allo will begin today, and it is expected to reach all users in a few days. Google has been trying very hard to push the app as much as possible. They even had it advertised on the Google Search home page. However, in a time where nothing seems to be going right for Google, this update comes out as a ray of hope.
