Facebook, the  giant social media app, yesterday introduced a fresh new feature called, Instant Video in its messenger app. By this, you will be able to share video with your friends while making conversation with them.

Facebook follows the footsteps of Snapchat which allows the user to share vanishing pictures and instant snaps which is quite popular with the youngsters. The Instant Video feature is available in the latest version of Messenger app for both Android and iPhone users.

This feature is different from that feature of video call which was launched by the company in 2015. With the help of this feature, you can share a live stream video with your best friend while chatting with him/her, the video will float over the conversation in the app. Your friend can view the video and also can share a video with you.

Video has become a crucial part for each and every individual. As you will be able to share all the moments with your friends. Facebook has already crossed over 1.71 billion users, while WhatsApp messenger which was acquired by the company in 2014 has crossed over 1 million users. While in July its Messenger app has crossed the mark of 1 million.

“It’s perfect for sharing quick moments with friends who aren’t right by your side or making your conversations richer by seeing each other face-to-face when you are messaging,” according to a blog post from Facebook Messenger.

“Instant Video is a reflection of the ubiquity of video - we simply expect to have that ability in real-time, all the time,” Facebook said.

If you want to share instant video with your friend, you have to tap on the video icon available at the top right corner of your messenger app. By default the audio is off. You can turn it on if you want. Your friend can watch the video and can reply to you in the similar manner or can send you text messages.
